We invite Master's students and PhD candidates in various disciplines (seismic and structural engineering, geotechnics, building technologies, landscape and urban studies, architecture, sociology, philosophy, archaeology, history of art and architecture) to send their applications including a motivation letter and a CV to livingwithearthquakes@gmail.com
Students will be based in Falerone and will travel around the surrounding area to gain a wider comprehension of the characteristics of the region. Field studies and teaching will include:

understanding the urban landscape;

assessing the value of the tangible and intangible heritage;

learning from the past through the use of archival documents;

evaluating the damages at the urban and architectural scales;
-
training in the conservation process of urban and historic fabric;

working with the local community.
Participants are required to follow a preparatory stage on these topics in the month leading to the scheduled programme. Participants will be given the opportunity to present their researches for critical review.
The summer school fee of €200 covers essential course expenses, including digitised materials, lectures, workshops, site visits and the final exhibition. Accommodation (bed and breakfast) will be arranged in Falerone at a cost of €30/night.
